Livingston, LA — The Leadership Livingston Project Group, PAC can Play, announces their new community project at the Pupil Appraisal Center in Livingston.  The center is utilized to evaluate young children entering the public school system.

PAC can Play consists of a group of 8 local Leadership Livingston class members, who recognized the need for a safe, comfortable, and well deserved outside evaluation space for the Pupil Appraisal Center. The project group presented a proposal to enhance the space currently used by staff and students. The proposed project includes a covered area to keep children and staff out of the elements, a fence and improvements to the aesthetics of the outdoor area.

The Pupil Appraisal Center offices more than 75 educators and administrators where they conduct over 400 evaluations of children entering the school system each year, including physical evaluations.  The outside area will also be used by the staff for a rest and relaxation break area, which they do not have now.

The project is being implemented with partnerships between the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Livingston Program, the Livingston Chamber Foundation, Livingston Parish Public Schools, McLin Construction and stakeholders.  It is projected to be completed before the start of the 2023 fall semester of school.

“PAC can Play” will devote time and resources to creating a safe, appealing, and befitting outside evaluation area for the children and staff to effectively and safely evaluate the children of our Parish. PAC can Play’s head coordinator says, “The children of our Parish and the awesome staff at the Pupil Appraisal Center deserve so much - the least we can do is reward them with a safe and enjoyable area that’s also a vital need for the kids.” noted Joey Amadeo, project group manager.

Members of the project group include:  Allison James - Forte & Talbada; David Addison - City of Walker Police Chief; Jeff Ard - Livingston Parish Council; Emily Chustz - North Oaks Health System; Joey Amadeo - First Guaranty Bank; Michelle Parrish - Livingston Parish Library; Nathan Sanders - Livingston Young Republicans; Shelley Simmons - Elevate Real Estate
