Job Summary: 
Responsible for all aspects of manufacturing high-quality, precast concrete structures. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Be able to accurately use a tape measure to the ¼”.
  • Read and understand production and CAD drawings.
  • Use a tape measure to accurately set up molds, including the assembly and placement of reinforcement steel, hole formers, and lifting hardware.
  • Be able to measure distances as required by layout and plans with the use of rebar and wire mesh.
  • Frequently use common construction hand tools.
  • Open molds and disassemble with hardware from the concrete structure.
  • Have molds cleaned and ready to accept reinforcement.
  • Once the concrete structure is stripped, scrape the outer doors and inner core to remove oil and debris from steel molds
  • Form oil application must be lightly, neatly and evenly to ensure the concrete will strip easily.
  • Be able to build custom molds that can withstand concrete form pressure to produce structures according to engineered drawings.
  • Clean the work area at the end of the day, ensuring trash is properly disposed of and materials or equipment are properly stored with keeping the work area free of debris.
  • Following the piece checklist set up on molds, including the assembly and placement of steel reinforcing hole formers and installation of lifting hardware.
  • Finish concrete making sure that the top surface is level, casting is in the correct location, and excess concrete is removed from the sides of molds.
  • Be able to name critical components of molds and tools in the production area.
  • Notify Quality Control once the checklist is completed.  Listen and make necessary corrections that need to be performed.  DO NOT Close mold until QC has done its inspections.
  • Eliminate waste-keep cost-effective operations in mind.
  • Operate forklift and overhead crane if certified as directed by supervisor
    • Knowledge of weights of products and use of proper rigging use.
    • Complete daily checklist on all equipment before using.
    • Load and unload precast products in assigned storage areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • She/He must have the physical ability to work in a precast concrete manufacturing plant. 
  • Must frequently lift and/or moved up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
