Building Enhancements at Livingston Activity Center

AN AGING PAVILION IN NEED OF REPAIR
A brand new building, 10 years in the making, is now is place for the Louisiana Association of Challenged Adults (LAC). Behind the building lies an aging pavilion where these adults congregate, perform activities and learn valuable social skills. Team "Leadership Accepts the Challenge", made up of a group of business professionals who are part of the Leadership Livingston Class of 2020 accepted the challenged of completely renovating the pavilion with fresh paint on both the structure and concrete, repairing the metal roof and wood that is in disrepair, and sealing roof leaks. The pavilion will be outfitted with LED lighting, (10) commercial grade fans, and landscaping to complete the vision of a pavilion fitting for such a worthwhile organized focused on giving purpose to challenged adults who may struggle with acceptance. 

SUBSTANTIAL IMPACT
With a financial impact of over $25,000, this project will not only serve the 80-90 LAC participants and their families, but it also has the potential to serve thousands more in the community through event rentals which will bring in much-needed funds for this century-old Livingston Parish non-profit organization. Funding and labor for the project were provided by Farrell Calhoun Paint Company, Sanders Painting, Rustoleum, Gardner/Gibson, Nick Devenney Electric, Aaron Ellis, Parish President Layton Ricks, Chapman's Paint Place Podcast, Livingston Chamber Foundation, and Leadership Accepts the Challenge Group Members. Repairs to the structure have already begun, and the group anticipates being able to complete the project in the very near future.
