On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, the Livingston Parish Chamber held it's Annual Awards Event. The event drew over 250 local businesses, dignitaries and stakeholders. Local sports legend, Ben McDonald, was the keynote speaker. David St. Romain provided the pre event entertainment. The winners and the category they represent are listed below.

The business was established in 1977 by Charlie Prescott. Keeping the business in the family, Charlie passed the business on to his son, Chris. The business began by offering radiator and windshield services and continues that today. They enjoy supporting local sports programs, especially football and baseball at Live Oak and Denham Springs High.

AFA has been an integral part of the development of Livingston Parish since its conception in 1975. AFA is the oldest and largest engineering firm in Livingston Parish. In 2025, AFA will celebrate 50 years in business
Their work with local municipalities, parish government, and the school system provides clean drinking water, wastewater solutions and drainage improvement to all areas of the parish.
AFA has successfully worked to provide critical drainage solutions with evaluation, design, and implementation of drainage improvement systems. They have designed and administered capital improvement projects for roads and highways, natural gas systems, traffic analysis, and other utility projects.
They have administered Livingston Parish’s Road Program, drainage improvement projects because of the 2016 Flood; and assisted with numerous hurricane recoveries. Their involvement in the private sector has been equally extensive, including design and construction services for developments such as Bass Pro, OLOL in Walker, CubeSmart, Live Oak Sports Complex, Boardwalk Apartments, Denham Townhomes, Greystone Golf and Country Club, and countless residential subdivisions. CAVALIER HOUSE BOOKS – MAIN STREET BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
The Main Street Business award is meant for a business that has upgraded, revitalized or historically preserved a location in Livingston parish. This year, John and Michelle Cavalier of Cavalier House Books is the recipient of that award.
Cavalier House Books started as a home-based business when John and Michelle were in college in 2005. In 2009, they signed their first store front lease and in 2022, they purchased the Crowder Antiques Building located in downtown Denham Springs, with a promise to Mrs. Crowder that they would love it as she did.
The building was built in 1927 and was originally known as the Brown Hotel & Café. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Through its years, it been the home to a hotel, café, retail space, office space and now – a bookstore and more.
The location brings in artists and authors adding to the vibrance of the Denham Springs Historic District.

Sheriff Jason Ard’s Christmas Crusade
Since 1987, Sheriff Jason Ard's Christmas Crusade has helped more than 10,000 children from more than 5,000 families from every community in Livingston Parish.
The need continues to grow and with the help of generous community and sponsors, 1513 children from nearly 700 families were served last year – making it one of the biggest years to date.
