Kiran Chawla is an award-winning investigative journalist with over two decades of experience covering some of the most important stories in Louisiana and Mississippi. Her journalism career began in high school with a two-week internship at WWL in New Orleans, an opportunity that quickly turned into a year-long internship, then a part-time job during college, and eventually a full-time position in broadcast news.
Throughout her career, Kiran has reported in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Jackson, Mississippi. She has covered major national and regional stories, including Hurricane Katrina, the BP oil spill, and the 2016 floods across the Baton Rouge area.
Today, Kiran leads her own independent news outlet dedicated to investigative reporting. She remains fiercely committed to delivering the full truth, championing community voices, and upholding the values of public service journalism.
Kiran’s dedication to honest and impactful storytelling has earned her multiple Edward R. Murrow Awards, Emmy Awards, and distinctions such as Reporter of the Year and Newsperson of the Year.
