The Livingston Parish Chamber is proud to announce Sybil Cotten as one of the 2021 Women's Leadership Award recipients.

PROFESSIONAL

Sybil is the Senior Director, Service Line at Our Lady of the Lake Livingston campus, a position she has held since 2012. Sybil started in nursing for over 16 years, and through her career, she was eventually called upon for her experience and was part of the opening of the Livingston campus. Her former roles in trauma care proved to be a valuable addition to the emergency care departments. A nurse at heart, she obtained her Master of Nursing and is board certified. Add to that, she recently completed her Master of Business Administration. As a true honor of her leadership, Sybil is a past recipient of the Mother Gertrude Award, which is the highest leadership award for the Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.

COMMUNITY
Sybil has spearheaded community initiatives including work with the Livingston Council on Aging, community health screenings, health and wellness education and, of course, as a top location in the parish through the pandemic. She serves on the board of directors of the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce and LEDC. Sybil is a graduate of the Chamber’s Leadership Livingston program, and serves on the Leadership Livingston Alumni Council, as well as the Chamber Women’s Leadership Council. She supports leadership programming in Livingston parish to the fullest.

MENTORING
As a mentor to others, Sybil takes immense pride in seeing her proteges promoted and growing in their respective roles. She feels there is untapped potential in women’s programming in Livingston Parish and sees the best opportunity in reaching women who do not hold formal leadership titles yet act in a leadership capacity daily.
