The group was inspired to raise awareness about the needs of children in foster care through community partnerships. They helped jump start the Foster Village, which collects items needed by families caring for children in foster care. They also created the Directions mentoring events for children aging out of foster care as well as opening a classroom at the Denham Springs Police Department for mandatory classes for foster parents. Since the 2016 flood, foster parents have been driving to Covington to take the classes.
