Leadership Project - LPPS Food Trailer Reveal
The M.E.A.L.S. project is a food serving trailer that will allow Livingston Parish School System to expose High School and Junior High students to new foods that they would not normally have the opportunity to try, and to sample items before adding them to the school menus. The trailer will also provide a way for ProStart students to develop menus and take pride in showing off the culinary skills they are learning in a real-world setting.
The project was on the "wish-list" for LPPS for quite some time, and was officially started in 2020 by group members Gary O'Neal, John Dillon, Chris Neal, Nicky Gautreau, Lance Landry, Amanda Seals, Tim McMasters, and Christine Patrick after initial meetings with LPPS officials. After a fundraising campaign, the trailer was customized to the needed specifications and turned over to LPPS for the final touches. Kitchen equipment and a custom wrap were added and the "Curbside Cafe" is now official and ready to be unveiled.
