Description
Looks who's 50!!
The Chamber celebrates 50 years of incorporation in 2016. 2016 has been a year for the record books and, well, we are adding another one.
Although the chamber has been in existence since the 1920's, we were officially incorporated by the State of Louisiana in 1966, as many non profit organizations were. The photo above is an image of business leaders from Denham Springs from the 1950's where business leaders toured the Port of New Orleans.
Back to the celebration. Through the years, the Chamber has engaged thousands of business people with not only business issues, but community causes. The Chamber rallied to bring Bass Pro to the area. The Chamber supported the Juban Crossing development and was part of the progress since 2007. Those are just a few you know, but there are many more you may not.
Like the HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS in scholarship funds paid to local high school seniors. Paid for by local business and administrated by the Chamber.
Our newest programming, 5 years or less, is Leadership Livingston - the program that is not only teaching how the community works, but also, identifying community service opportunities and gaps that are critical to the parish.
New also is Livingston Young Professionals, that allows 21-40 year olds to have a voice and input while developing professional and leadership skills. They also are part of community service efforts.
