Alliance Safety Council is currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst. Quality Assurance Analysts are responsible for conducting tests on Alliance Safety Council software programs to make sure the programs perform properly and are easy to use.
Quality Assurance Analysts are responsible for overseeing the software quality control processes within Alliance Safety Council. They are responsible for conducting quality testing sessions to identify possible software issues and for creating specialized reports regarding software bugs. They identify possible performance and memory-related issues, observe user experience discrepancies, and verify products work as intended before they are released. Duties include inspecting procedures, participating in design specification and requirement reviews, developing detailed test plans, validating client reported issues, and driving the issue communication process.
A Quality Assurance Analyst must:
  • Utilize product specifications, test equipment, and software applications to identify bugs and deficiencies in software.
  • Develop quality assurance plans, test cases, and/or protocols for interpreting test results.
  • Create, maintain, and install software test lab hardware, software, and equipment.
  • Document findings, record test results, and create reports to analyze overall product quality trends and product release criteria.
  • Provide recommendations to engineers and developers of progress and resolution of bugs for final products. 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be a self-starter with an investigative mindset who goes above and beyond the expected requirements of the role. He/she should be extremely thorough and detail-oriented and should work well with established processes. He/she must also take meticulous notes, be organized about recording process steps, and work well with others, since the job involves coordinating with production teams, product managers, and customers to ensure that the right measures are put into place to align the final product with the functional and design specifications.
Other skills and abilities needed for success in this role include:
  • High school education/GED and equivalent experience.
  • Four or more years of software quality assurance experience.
  • Experience as a Technical Writer is a plus.
  • Quality Assurance certifications (ISTQB, CAST, etc.) is a plus.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate test plans and results to teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of web development platforms, databases and infrastructure.
  • Work well under pressure and be able to prioritize to meet deadlines and quickly shift priorities as necessary.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and demonstrate keen attention to details.
  • Positive, team player attitude and demonstrated optimism are necessary. 
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
  • Designing, documenting, maintaining, and executing test plans on software applications.
  • Detecting software failures so that defects may be discovered and corrected.
  • Recording and documenting results and comparing to expected results.
  • Generating historical analysis of test results.
  • Documenting operational and usability anomalies and issues.
  • Communicating test results to implementation and development teams.
  • Maintaining list of software defects using a bug-tracking solution.
  • Operating and maintaining isolated test database and networks.
  • Providing product documentation and application instructions for users.
  • Ensuring compliance with general application best practices, accepted web standards and customer feedback.
  • Increase iLevel customer experience and satisfaction
  • Defining and maintaining standardized quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Collaborating with support staff to identify and prioritize testing needs
  • Ensuring acceptance with user experience guidelines for Web, mobile, and accessibility.
  • Performing application security audits.
  • Participating in application planning meetings.
  • Ensuring data integrity standards.

Other Skills and Abilities: Must be able to communicate in a professional manner.
Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills are preferred. Must be have the ability to learn all functions of the Alliance Safety Council computer programs, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Schedule: This position will be a salaried exempt position with normal days of operations for Alliance Safety Council being Monday – Friday.
