DESCRIPTION:HOPE Ministries / The Way to Work will hold its renowned Understanding\n\nthe Dynamics of Poverty Workshop on Thursday\, September 28\, 2023 at HOPE of Baton\n\nRouge\, 4643 Winbourne Avenue from 8:30am - 3:30pm. This workshop is open to the\n\npublic for a fee of $199 ($175 for Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce Members)\, including lunch. Registration can be found at www.hopebr.org/dynamics-of-poverty.\n\n\n\nFor years\, HOPE/The Way to Work has led the community in research-based poverty\n\nreduction education and strategies. Since the workshop's inception in 2009\, almost 400\n\ncompanies and organizations across the state and region have gained a greater understanding\n\nof the behaviors and barriers faced by their clients\, employees\, and neighbors. Over 50% of\n\nLouisiana residents live in poverty or are Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed as\n\ndefined by the United Way. The workshop is updated regularly as new local and national\n\nresearch becomes available. Understanding the Dynamics of Poverty is highly recommended\n\nfor anyone who works with those raised in or near the poverty line\, including clergy\,\n\nteachers\, social workers\, employers\, community volunteers\, and anyone who seeks to make a\n\ndifference for our community.\n\nThe Understanding the Dynamics of Poverty training is approved for six(6) continuing\n\neducation hours by the National Association of Social Workers\, Louisiana Chapter\, as\n\nauthorized by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners.\n\n\n\nHOPE's Mission: Prevent homelessness.
